To help you become someone who “never takes a backwards step”, you’ll have an individual development plan to help document your goals and progress over the season.
Each player will have their own book. In it, you will document your goals for the season, how we can help you achieve those goals, and identify your progress over the season. It will also be where you record your personal mentality framework so you can perform at your best where it matters – on the pitch.
Having an individual development plan is important because it gives you a clear direction on how you can achieve your goals. It also is a reminder to yourself of what success looks like – which we can then use to review your development during interviews. It also becomes a great source of motivation when you may need a boost.
Lots of top level players have their own form of an individual development plan. Elite competitors at the top level – such as Nicola McDermott, medal winner at the Olympics – actively write in similar notebooks to reflect & improve their performance.
